Male of the Species was conceived as three TV Plays for the British 'ITV Saturday Night Theatre' series. In their UK form and respective order they were known as 'Macneil' featuring Sean Connery; 'Cornelius' featuring Michael Caine and 'Emlyn' featuring Paul Scofield.
