"It's easy to lose yourself whilst wandering the forest at 2AM, and I did. I got thinking about the appropriation of genre, the appropriation of process, how audiences respond to a work and whether this has any bearing on the work of art itself, postmortem. If every work is political, then to some degree, is every work propaganda? How can art ever be genuine if it is biased? If the audience is biased? There are many questions and very few answers - often narrative acts as a modicum of control, and this film was about breaking free from that control." - JM
