Sydney, 1920. Police discover a burnt body. It is a woman's. Although there is little evidence on the crime scene, Commissioner Dick leans towards a homicide. At the same time, near the port of the city, four sailors talk gaily. Only one of them, Eugène, stands aside. Back at his hotel, Eugène immerses himself in his memories: the disappearance of his wife Annie is one of them.
