Biography
Andrea Gabriella Kapsaski was born on December 31, 1956 in Heidelberg, Germany. She is a poet, playwright, translator, theatre director, film producer and actress. She published her first book of poetry "Avti i grigori fthora tis sarkas" in 2000 (Editions Omvros, Athens). Kapsaski has a long background in theatre. She was the founder and Producer of the "Ancient Theatre Alive Festival" (2000-2002) as well as a producer for the Antitheatro, Athens (1998 - 2002) and Act Provocateur International (2005-2006) and took seven plays to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She also Produced and co-wrote two Radio series, "Europe between the Wars" (1981-1982) [ET1] with Kostas Mazanis and "Under the Light of the Full Moon" (1981-1983) [ERT2], National Radio Greece. She is the daughter of Greek director and poet Sokrates Kapsaskis and the mother of director Salem Kapsaski and actress Rahel Kapsaski. She produced the films Spidarlings (2015), My Head Hurts (2000) and Films Confiscated from a French Brothel (2016). She is the Co-Founder and C.E.O. of Après Vague Productions and a producer of the US TV show London Calling.
